Polarization of Light
The objective of the experiment is to measure the changing intensity of light passing through one or more polarizing filters and the angle between them.
Objective
Set up a beam source and polarizers so that LabPro can measure the intensity of polarized light. Adjust the angles between the polarizers by 15 degrees and record each data point. Do this for 2 and then 3 polarizers. Also make observations of light from a fluorescent bulb.
Data and Observations
Conclusion and Analysis
Since polarizers leave only the electric fields of light, we see cosine wave pattern when adjusting the degrees. Also, when holding a polarizer to a light bulb, nothing happens, but light coming off a reflective surface can be polarized.
