Introduction to Sound

The objective of the experiment is to observe properties of sound waves and determine the values of period, frequency, and wavelength.

Procedure:
See Physics 4C Lab Manual (Martin Sydney Mason), Experiment 5.

Data and Observations
Trial 1) Voice 1

Trial 1h) Voice 1 for Different Time Sample

Trial 2) Voice 2

Trial 3) Tuning Fork

Trial 4) Tuning Fork on Soft Object

Summary
As shown from the graphs, the tuning forks are more sinusoidal than a human voice. An important relation is that when sound is moving at a constant speed, frequency is inversely proportional to wavelength.
